When love takes place, life takes a u-turn! ‘Mod’ is an earnest, emotional love saga between two entirely incompatible individuals.
Aranya (Ayesha), a “lively & bubbly” 25 year old girl, resides in the drowsy and peaceful hill station, Ganga. The tiny town is the house of several interesting characters such as Ashok Mahadeo (Raghuveer Yadav), Aranya’s orthodox father who is the chief of the neighbourhood fan club of Kishore Kumar, the flaming Gayatri Garg (Tanvi Azmi), “GG”, her aunt, buddy, and best friend, who runs an eatery cafĂ© and is a mother form to Aranya, flabby Gangaram (Nikhil Ratnaparkhi), the neighbourhood storekeeper who harbours sentiments for Aranya and Ashok’s music pop group, the eternally present Kishore Kumar’s devotees.
Aranya’s mother left to follow greater dreams in the city when Aranya was a small child and together father and daughter expect that one fine day she will come back. They pass the time respectfully day by day to witness if the isolated train that overtakes by their home will bring her back. Aranya owns a watch repair shop, a gift furnished down by her mother to support her father and herself.
One fine day an entirety unfamiliar person, Andy (Rannvijay Singh), arrives up at her entrance way to have his watch repair. He is completely shy, but keeps coming day after day to have his water logged watch fixed. As a fee he puts down a 100 rupee note in the shape of an origami swan. Aranya bit by bit affectionate up to this unusual and unfamiliar person and in the course of a sequence of gatherings and next to all chances, they both eventually and finally falls in love with each other.
However who is Andy, where he from is and what is his past, remains a question mark. As Aranya finds out the reality regarding Andy, the movie leads to an exhilarating and touching climax in the strongest belief of great love fairy-tales.
After ‘Aashayein’ (2010) starring John Abraham, Nagesh has high hopes from his next venture ‘Mod’. Nagesh and Ayesha Takia are back again after Nagesh’s much-admired movie ‘Dor’ (2006). ‘Mod’ is all set to release in theatres from October 14, 2011.
