What is The Help all about?

The Help basically is a comedy-drama movie that has been adapted from the Kathryn Stockett’s very controversial novel of the same name. The novel was loved as well as criticized for many reasons overall. The movie basically is about a young woman named Eugenia Skeeter Phelan and the movie showcases the relationship of hers with her two black maids. And the movie will be set in the Civil Rights era of America, which makes the movie fall in the 1960’s time. Skeeter basically plays the role of a journalist who now decides to write a very controversial book on a subject of her maids and it will be from the point of view of her two black maids and the book will reveal what kind of racism they have to face in the society.

The film takes place in the region of  Jackson, Mississippi, and the movie has actors like  Emma Stone, Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jessica Chastain, Sissy Spacek, Mike Vogel, Mary Steenburgen, and Allison Janney. The Help opened gained a lot of positive reviews all over the world and still is gaining a lot of positive feedback. But the biggest news was that the movie went on to be the highest grosser for 3 straight weeks and the movie earned became a gross of $196.6 million against its budget of just $25 million
